Can you understand? Someone, somewhere, can you understand me a little, love me a little? For all my despair, for all my ideals, for all that - I love life. But it is hard, and I have so much - so very much to learn.

The set of photographs is positioned in correspondence with each of the words of this phrase, translated to different languages that are no longer spoken or are isolated or threatened.

At the same time, this hybrid alphabet is linked to a catalogue of galaxy images where the existence of a black hole, a dead star, has been detected. It also shows a virtual reconstruction of the geography where the various languages were spoken.

The golden plate recreates the journey, through space, of a series of events related to the history of scientific knowledge such as ecological changes, discoveries that influenced the insight into our evolution, technological transformations, etc... ever since the first television emissions.
