In the empty faces of “Opus for left eye” we sense looks and expressions that are ours; we replace the absences of the arms or legs with our positions, which explain and tell us what we are, which betray us. We enter the scene of the painting. The intention of the work becomes ours. Merleau-Ponty says, "before anyone else, the thing realize this miracle of the expression: an interior that is revealed to the outside, a significance that enters the world and begins to exist, and that can only be understood fully by searching your place with the look".
