Stade, Germany, 1973.
She studied Fine Arts in Kiel, Germany from 1994 to 1998. She then studied courses in the Fine Arts Academies of Bergen and Trondheim, Norway.
She is known for her watercolours which represent figures and landscapes. Her work, which in a way reminds us of expressionist artists, is specialised in the exploration of painterly possibilities and in the representation process of the figures. Her work cannot be framed in one particular artistic style as she examines both figures and painterly abstraction. Her characters, which are asexual, are treated in a schematic manner, reduced to simple abstract strokes and basic lines. She does not draw portraits. Her characters do not have features, there are no details. She only creates an outline, the aspects and places them on empty backgrounds, with no landscape. The most important part for her is the prior creative process, the study of the materials and the colours and the possibilities that they offer.
For materials she uses paper and charcoal, and for the outlines of the figures she uses watercolours and acrylics. At first glance, they seem like preparatory sketches. Her palette is reduced to black, white, blue and grey tones. Once the piece is finished, she applies a varnish.
She places the large format pieces directly on the wall, without a frame. Thus, she helps the work of art to fuse with its surroundings.
She has participated in various national exhibitions, including Berlinische Galerie in 2007 and 2010 and Frankfurter Kunstverein in 2013. In 2014 she participated in the Poznan Biennial.
